On request of the Iman Ali Holy Shrine in Najaf, Van der Ploeg International designed and delivered all equipment required to establish a complete dairy farm for 270 dairy cows.
The project was specifically designed for the hot local climatic conditions and consists of one new dairy cow stable and a renovated stable for female young stock. The cows are milked in a 2×10 herringbone milking parlour. All animals can be secured in self‑locking feed fences for insemination, vaccinations, pregnancy checks, and other routine procedures.
The farm layout includes both indoor and outdoor sand paddocks for resting. To ensure cow comfort during the warm season, the stables are equipped with fans featuring fogging modules and side curtains. Manure is removed from the manure alley by a scraper mounted on a tractor.
The equipment supplied includes:
- A 2×10 herringbone milking parlour and an 8,000-litre milk cooling tank.
- Stable equipment.
- A double row of fans with fogging modules and side curtains.
- Small farm equipment.
- A feed mixing wagon.
